Celebrating Inspirational Women

Alumni of the University of Manchester are invited to attend their annual panel discussion and reception in celebration of International Women’s Day. This year the discussions will focus on the media industry and will take place in the Whitworth Hall on the University campus on the evening of Thursday, 8 March 2018.

Expert Speakers: Dorothy Byrne (BA Philosophy 1973), Head of News and Current Affairs at Channel 4

Holly Dewsbury (BA Language, Literacy and Communication 2009), Manager, EMEA UKI Agency Team, Facebook

Kirstie O’Mahony (BA Philosophy 2017), Co-ordinator of Student Media and Editor in Chief, The Mancunion

The event will be hosted and chaired by the University’s President and Vice-Chancellor Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell, with an audience made up of alumni, staff, students and friends of the University.

Refreshments will be available at 6pm, before the discussions start at 6.30pm. A drinks and canapés reception will follow the and the evening will close at 8.45pm. This event is free to attend.
