Manchester’s ultimate dining and leisure destination, Great Northern Warehouse, will once again host the city’s favourite spooky film festival – ‘Grimmfest’ at ODEON Cinemas from Thursday 6 – Sunday 9 October 2022.

Grimmfest, Manchester's International Festival of Fantastic Film, which has been giving its audience goosebumps since 2009, promises an extravaganza of scares, SFX, and state of the art filmmaking with 21 films guaranteed to have you jumping in your seat.

Just in time for spooky season, commencing on 6 October, Grimmfest at ODEON Cinemas at Great Northern Warehouse offers four full days of the best in horror and genre cinema.

So, whether you like horror, psychological thrillers, sci-fi or dark fantasy – Grimmfest if for you.

The film festival’s official bar sponsor, Lions Den, situated on Deansgate Mews at Great Northern Warehouse, will be offering 20% off drinks for Grimmfest pass holders throughout the four days.

And on Sunday 9 October at 17:00, the friendly neighbourhood bar will host an intimate Q&A session with on-screen genre icon, AJ Bowen, where he will talk about his work on a host of seminal genre movies including, You’re Next, House of The Devil and The Signal – as well as taking audience questions.

Opening night feature is the UK premiere of the darkly comic and delightfully quirky “fairy tale with Zombies”, ‘The Loneliest Boy in The World’ where director Martin Owen (Twist) and stars of the film Max Harwood (Everyone’s Talking About Jamie) and Ben Miller (Armstrong and Miller, Primeval, Bridgeton and Death in Paradise) will be in attendance.

On Saturday 8 October, AJ Bowen will present the screening of his latest film which he co-wrote as well as starring in – Night Sky, a genre-savvy splicing of sun-bleached Desert Noir, freewheeling 70s road movie, and paranoid Science Fiction conspiracy thriller.

But this is just a taster of what to expect at Grimmfest 2022. There are plenty more films to see – shorts and features, a whole array of thrills, chills, high tension, and outrageous dark comedy.
